Courses:
Student and the Law (11th Grade)
An introductory course designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills in the American Justice system and Government, to begin their path toward a career in Law Enforcement or The Greater Justice System. Students will understand the concept of federalism and the levels of Government in The United States. They will have a cursory understanding of the basis and applications of Federal, State, and Local Laws as well as how laws are enforced throughout The Criminal Justice Process. Students will also understand how laws have changed in The United States throughout history, and the impact this has had on our society. Students will learn how to create reports, handle simple investigations, and how to respond to citizens needing Law Enforcement assistance.
CSI/Forensics (12th Grade)
This course is designed to give students both theory and experience in a fast-paced, rigorous, multi-disciplinary course that provides an association between the inquiry process and The Criminal Justice System. Emphasis is on understanding the underlying theories of Forensic Science, with particular emphasis on public safety. This class will contribute to the students knowledge of chemistry by utilizing laboratory techniques and procedures to analyze and identify trace physical evidence.
